What's there
The house is fully furnished and includes a tv, vcr, dvd player, cd/radio boom box, high speed wireless and wired internet connection, etc.. There is also a 200+ movie collection for you to use. The kitchen is fully stocked with glasses, dishes, pots and pans, coffee maker, blender, microwave, etc..

See property description for more details. See What to Bring for info on items you should bring with you.

What to Bring
You need to bring your own sheets, pillowcases, towels, bathmats and kitchen towels as well as your own consumable items such as toilet tissue, trash bags, ziplock bags, spices, washing machine detergent, dishwashing detergent, etc.

Note there is a Keurig coffee maker, so you will need to bring K-Cups to use it. There is also a regular coffee maker with a gold filter, so you can brew coffee that way, too.

You will need sheets and pillow cases for:
  • 2 queen beds
  • 1 double bed
  • 3 twin beds
There is small but suprisingly well-stocked convenience store on the island by the ferry landing. But you will need to do your full grocery shopping off the island. There is a Shaws and a Hannafords on Route 302 in Windham. There is also a smaller grocery store in Naples.

Directions to 43-44 Leisure Lane, Frye Island, Maine:
(Frye Island is approximately 2.5 hours from Boston.)

Take I-95 into Maine and get off at exit 63 "Gray."

Turn LEFT at the end of the off ramp onto Route 202/4/115.

Continue for about 3.6 miles and turn RIGHT onto Route 115, going towards Windham.

Continue for about 3 miles until you reach the business district of Windham. Turn RIGHT at the traffic light onto Route 302. Route 302 is also called Roosevelt Trail.

Continue on 302 for about 7.2 miles and turn LEFT onto Hawthorne Road. This turn is easy to miss -- you will be close to the turn when you see the green Krainin Real Estate and green Shamrock Gas Station signs on the right. You may also see a "Frye Island Ferry" sign pointing to Hawthorne Road.

Go to the end of Hawthorne Rd (about 1/2 mile) and take a LEFT onto Cape Road.

Continue on Cape road for about 4.6 miles and take a RIGHT onto the short access road to the Ferry Landing. There is a blue sign at the turn off: Frye Island Ferry.

The ferry is a car ferry -- you won't need to get out of the car. It's $30 round-trip, and the ride is about 7 minutes.

When you drive off the Ferry, continue straight and take the first RIGHT onto Leisure Lane.

We are number 43-44, and there is a large sign naming the property "Tranquility Base." Pull into and drive down the driveway and park anywhere.

Note that the lot/house numbers are essentially sequential, but only on the RIGHT side of the road (there is a different range of numbers on the left side of the road).

Ferry Schedule
In high season (mid June - Labor Day) during busy times the Ferry runs every 15 minutes or continuously, and otherwise it runs every 30 minutes at the top and bottom of the hour.
